The Shanghai Wujiaochang Wanda Cinema made a brilliant start in 2012 by setting a new national box office record.

In February, the cinema’s audience hit 115,000 and its box office surpassed RMB6.61 million ($1.05 million), a new national box office record for a single cinema.

Thanks to high-end projection equipments and high-quality services, the 5-year-old Wujiaochang Cinema has set a successful commercial example in the industry.

China’s film industry has undergone rapid development in recent years and the national box office reached RMB13.1 billion ($2.08 billion) in 2011.
