A new Wanda Cultural Tourism City will emerge in Nanchang, capital of Jiangxi Province as Wanda Group held a ground breaking ceremony for the project on June 18.
Following the Harbin tourism city which broke ground in April, the Nanchang Cultural Tourism City is the group’s second cultural tourism city project to start construction. It will open to the public in 2015.
“With different settings and facilities, each Wanda Cultural Tourism City will have its unique style to represent local characteristics,” said Wanda Chairman Wang Jianlin at the ceremony.
Nanchang Party Secretary Wang Wentao, Mayor Chen Junqing also attended the ceremony.
The tourism city is located in the Jiulonghu New Area with an investment of 40 billion yuan, making it the project with the biggest investment in Jiangxi in 30 years.
After completion, it will comprise functions of culture, tourism, commerce, hotel and entertainment. There will be a six-star hotel, a five-star hotel, two four-star hotels and five three-star hotels with a total of 4,000 rooms. Some 20 famous bar brands from home and abroad will enter the bar street.
An indoor ocean park, designed by American TVSA company, will become the biggest one in the world.
The tourism city can simultaneously accommodate 50,000 visitors and expects 20 million visitors a year.
It will create 30,000 job vacancies and pay over 500 million yuan per year in taxes with expected annual revenue of 5 billion yuan.
Characterized by unique innovation, master designers, and Wanda's own intellectual property rights, the Cultural Tourism City is an innovative product from Wanda Group, which has rich experience in the commercial, cultural and tourism industries.
Wanda plans more similar projects in other cities including Hefei, Wuxi and Guangzhou.
