Oct 13,2014
China Entrepreneur Magazine recently compiled and published a list of China's most global companies in 2014. Wanda Group unanimously topped this year's list following its successful execution of numerous cross-border acquisitions as well as the rapid pace which the company expanded its business overseas.
The magazine's China Entrepreneur Business School analyzed and compiled data from 650 cross-border acquisitions carried out by Chinese companies from 2013-2014. At the same time, the study took into consideration key indicators such as property investment, establishment of overseas R&D centers, total assets, total revenue and workforce size from Chinese companies on the Fortune 500 List and China Top 500 Enterprises List, eventually selecting a total of 106 candidates. Academic specialists from different research institutes, universities and international organizations then analyzed all candidates to select a final list of 20 companies.
After purchasing America's second largest cinema chain AMC Theatres for $2.6 billion in 2012, the company acquired UK-based yacht maker Sunseeker International for £320 million in 2013 and launched billions of dollars worth of property deals.
Finishing behind Wanda Group in that order was Huawei Technologies, Lenovo Group, Tencent Holdings, Alibaba Group and Fosun Group.
